Click to FlickrIf you haven't heard about flickr, let me tell you a little bit about it.  Jeff Turner has shared some great tips with Flickr also.  Not only is it a great place to find Royalty Free photos, but it's also a great place to store your photos.  You can save up to 200 photos for free or pay $24.95 for a year of unlimited amount.  Check out my collection of photos. For those of you with a slight blogging addiction, it is also a great tool to upload photos to your blog or even a portal to send a photo to your blog AND write the blog.  Only two people that I know, Teresa Boardman and Kristal Kraft, have a photo blog.  I wrote a quick one about the flickr blog feature a while ago. Here's my phone photo blog Start your own useless blog!!!

I found a website that does a lot of fun stuff with photos called Big Huge Labs.  You know when you are looking for a quick gimmick to make a point or just feel silly.  Here's some things I have done with this website.  Click on the picture to take you to the page where you can create the item.  This can help with your creative juices.  Have fun with it...please share your creations.

Have fun with it, Missy.

Lenn, I fish the Potomac quite a bit from dam 4 on down.  We have a secret spot that no lie, we pulled out over 60 small mouth bass one morning last summer.  We put all of them back of course.  It's just great to get out and wet a line.

Cool Stuff Bob.  I just bought a great book called How to Use Flickr and it talks about the whole history of the company.  Pretty fascinating stuff.  I had no idea it was a social network.  I have a lot of photos on flickr but they are all private since I just dumped them there.  I'm working on getting them organized now.  It does so much more than I imagined.  I'm going to check out Jeff Turner's stuff again. Thanks for ideas.

Linda, its a social network for all the photo geeks.  I haven't dug deep into it yet either.  I think it has great potential.  Jeff says they will be doing video soon too.  I would like to start doing videos also and keep everything in one place...all the different locations can be confusing.

Bob,

Al Gorithm here,

I love what you did with the photograph of the ‘burgh... but anybody that lived there for any length of time can see how unrealistic & photoshopped the photograph was for this film ad.

1) For the first thing, the ‘burgh never gets any sunshine only rain therefore the rainbow would not be present.

2) There is not enough debris (logs, B-25s & cars) floating in the Mon. River & the color is not the right color... it is not brown enough.

3) Where is all the traffic on the bridges?

4) No one enjoys an IC! And if in fact that any person were standing up while drinking an IC, they would have to quickly sit down on the nearest toilet after receiving a nasty migraine & a recurrent, throbbing back side!

          [header_qol.jpg]

IC drinker on toilet with explosive hershey squirts.

5) That is not remotely close to a real "point state park celebration" photo, because... Fact: they would be serving IC beer, hence not sufficient or adequate amount of port-a-toilets in photo. (Reference Detail #4 & photograph above)

It seems that the small details like these that were altered would make your movie unrealistic to the people that love the place for all its character(s).

If you need a filming consultant for the ‘burgh production, I will try to help, but remember "It is a ‘Burgh Thing". :^)

Keeping it real,

Al

Al has obviously not been to Pittsburgh in awhile.  Since the still mills are gone from dahn tahn, the water has cleared up a bit.  I can agree with the rest however.

P.S.  I still have a dippy egg every Saturday morning.
