Our market place (Southern Wisconsin) has shown a definite drop off of activity.

New accepted offers to purchase for the first 15 days of May are about 45% of the new accepted offers for the last half of April.  I suspect that many of you are experiencing the same type of activity.

We could just be in a state of market where consumers are just trying to decide what is going on.  But, my guess is that we will drop back to last years level of activity.

I am just curious to find out if some else is having the same experience, or worse or better.

I would appreciate some of your comments.

It is a funny market.. .slow in some towns and busy in other towns.. It will be interesting to see how things develop in the next few weeks.

It's called the tax credit hangover.  Some of the readings I've been doing are saying that many of the sales that wouldhave happened for the next few months just got pushed up as the buyers wanted to take advantage of the tax credit.

In the Greater Seattle market, things are a little mixed.  Some report slowdowns, while others report no change.  Business is about unchanged for me.

Hi Jerry.  It seems to me there has also been a slow-down in Southern Oregon.  I sure hope that things start changing for the better soon.

It feels like traffic has slowed a bit, but I dont think the tax credit had anything to do with it. Our market always slows down after our winter season.

The buyers that I had that could take advantage of the tax credit would have bought anyway.

Jerry, the days following the April 30th end to the credit were actually quite busy with buyers. Then we had The Flood and everything has fallen off since then. I'm hoping it will pick back up after this holiday weekend, but who knows!
