The 20-member Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee has presented to the Town of Penfield their proposal fo all of the Town's land-use decisions.
It provides the Town's country vision, guidelines for future develepment, and establishes goals and objectives for the next 15 years.

There is some interesting information from the plan, such as, 2,200 students or 24% of the students that attend the Webster schools are from the Town of Penfield.
There are 27 properties within the Town of Penfield that are designated local or national landmarks. all of them were built between 1810 and 1875.
There are 13 parks located within the Town of Penfield totalling 1,027 acres.
The Town of Penfield has 32 miles of sidewalks and is adding about one mile more each year.
Under natural resources, the Town of Pendield has 7,099 acres or 32% of the town is classified as woodlands and 4,039 acres or 18% of the town is classified as steep slopes. Wetlands cover about 11% or 2,479 acres and 7% or 1,528 acres are in the 100-year FloodPlain for the Town of Penfield.
All in all, it is a very interesting and detailed document about the Town of Penfield.
