Discovery Place for KidsDiscovery Place for Kids in Huntersville, NC allows media to get first look.

Living in Huntersville, NC for the past 10 years and raising 6 yr old triplet boys the new Discovery Place for Kids is a welcome addition to our downtown area. It opened ups its doors for the first time for local media and politicians to get a first hand glimpse on what to expect come this fall.

Reading a few reviews from the local papers it seems like it is going to be a big hit. As for a parent it is very exciting to know that you do not have to travel to Uptown Charlotte anymore to experience the interactive learning that the Discovery Place will offer.

The museum will cater mostly to very young children and will have exhibits aimed at teaching children everything from healthy eating habits to understand underwater life.

Huntersville Mayor Jill Swain said the interactive museum will allow children to see, touch and better understand the world around them.

Although the museum will focus on exhibits for young children, Swain said kids of all ages and parents will be able to benefit from a trip to the museum.

It is ascetically appealing with great architectural work and adds new life to a downtown area that had become very complacent.  The new Discovery Place for Kids will add to the values of kids lives who reside in Huntersville and the surrounding areas.

You will be impressed with this place. Easy parking and not to far from you. It is slated to open this Fall.

Mike- I am glad to hear Huntersville is gaining attractions like this. We lived there until about 6 years ago. A great town to raise a family is getting even better.

This museum is a "smashed together" version of EdVenture! in Columbia, SC. I was so excited about this place until I went. It was cute and fun for the kids but the indoor playground gives the children access to the top level which i was not aware of until I panicked because I didnt know where my 4 yr.old disappeared to! I had my two year old inside the playground and couldnt get to him while trying to search for my 4 yr.old on the top level. Also, i think its ridiculous that parents pay $8 to get inside as well when there is nothing for them to do. And the second, most recent time I went, they filled the place to capacity.....which made the whole trip miserable. My kids could play with hardly anything and they even had to temporarily shut down the place cause they were filled. Not to mention, after paying $40....3 were adults....and only staying one hour, a fight broke out between 3 moms and therw was screaming and pushing and complete chaos. Not worth my time anymore.
