19 Comments on My First encounter with a Poisonous Snake in Texas!!!
LOL! Saw lots of snakes the last time I was in Texas hunting. Spiders too.
Duane ... its all gross!!!
Oh, Pippa! That snake turned himself into a nice heart for you! I think he has a cruxh!
They may be afraid of us but I'm not getting close enough to find out. No screaming just leaving.
I did not notice the heart! I would have screamed and fainted! -Not a good thing!
Wow, I would be out of there so quick, I would not have been able to take the pictures.
take care
LOL, I am terrified of snakes!
You're a Realtor... I'm sure there's plenty of poisonous snakes right in your office.
I love your post and proud of you for taking the pictures! So how was the rest of the trip?
Shanna .. the trip was sooo much fun! The snake was a great start!
Kathy .. me too!!!
Constantine ... I was screaming and jumping around the whole time .. I could just envision a quick "strike" and I'm out!
Sharon, I did not notice the heart either until I played back the pictures on my camera
Yes, Cameron .. next time I will drive on by ... it was just a first and I was curious!
Pat ... well the next day when I drove back on the same road I saw he was crushed .... kinda sad!
I guess, growing up in the country, snakes don't really bother me as much as most others. Think you're ready for the Rattlesnake Roundup out in Sweetwater now?
Its a much better that you didn't test the hypothesis of the snake being more scared than you. Scream, take a picture and run was the best solution. You're in Texas. This is sure to happen again.
I would have been out of there in a New York minute! I am terrifed of snakes! Yuck! I have a friend in San Antonio who tells me stories.
Hey just fyi that is not a poisonous snake, it's a harmless Rat Snake. It's acting like that (mouth open, etc.) because it's already been hit by a car and is likely dying.
