Snake Season in Norco and Corona

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 01845411

As we may know the weather is getting warmer and we are all looking forward to spending more time outside doing various outdoor activities in areas throughout the Corona/Norco areas rather it be hiking, fishing, horseback riding, we need to take this one caution to heart, from April-October we are not the only ones that like to enjoy this warm weather, snakes that are native to this area are going to be out enjoying the warm sun as well. Snakes that are native to this area include Red Diamond Rattlesnake, Gopher Snake, California King Snake and Red Racer. On hot days keep a lookout for snakes around sunset and sunrise. Snakes take to shade in and near vegetation, rocks, old tires and wood piles. Use caution when spring cleaning areas around your home, yard and business. All snakes should be treated with a healthy dose of caution and respect.

Well, that's a different kind of "crittur" to be on the lookout for!    On Vancouver Island, the large island to my west, one keeps an eye out for bear and cougar, when in the "hinterland areas".

We just found a baby rattlesnake in the mow strip in front of our house last month.  Called Animal Services on that little freeloader!  He didn't have any papers, so back to the desert he goes!
