Live for the Moo-mentDoes it bother you that there are a lot of off topic posts, people goofing around, just having fun?

Aside from not reading those posts... you could learn a lot from them and the posters... try participating...

The "The Lovely Wife" just had a massive blog on nicknames and she started it all with some well placed notes letting people know that they were mentioned in her post. I've also received those same type of notes from Maureen McCabe, Elaine Reese, Gena Riede and some others. I also have received an awesome cow thank you card from Karen Villa Schweinfurth and William J. Archambault (Investment Guru and philosopher) sent me some of his stuff too. On occassion I get an e-mail from an Active Rainer about a topic that was posted as well... thank you!

These folks understand the whole networking thing. I'm still working on it, but they really, really get it.

Not everybody can be Mary Mcknight and present loads of valuable info in what seems to be a never ending supply of awesome knowledge... and manage to stay "buff" too. Mary "gets" it... she gives you part of herself with her posts.

Jim Lee has been the face of the anti-realtor.com movement. He put's it all out there... even manages to share his love for Tennessee when he's not busy with the other stuff.

Broker Bryant has a knack for picking those perfect topics that people can latch on to, and he does it so well.

There are a whole bunch of smart people sharing things here, sometimes though... if you watch what they are doing you'll learn some other vaulable lessons.

In our business you can benefit greatly from good relationships. I'm working on it.

Hi Angus, Thanks for the kudos. Your post is absolutely correct. Networking and like-ability has a lot to do with success. Standing out and being different is a good thing. TLW and I have built our business on getting people to remember us. It's what we do. When meeting with potential customers the person that get the business is the one they like not the one that is the smartest. And that's works for me since I'm not very smart.

BTW Angus, I personally don't see where you are lacking in the relationship department at all. Your post come across as very intelligent, humorous and very genuine. All excellent qualities to have. So keep on mooooooooing:)

"Angus aka Moo"

There are so many posts the we who post something special know that our special will be lost in post heaven!

I sent an invitation for you and the guys to come name yourselves and boy did you guys name yourselves!

It was pretty cool I had a lot of fun and did a whole lot of networking with The Gentlemen of Active Rain. I had the honor of shaking hands with you all and getting to know you better.

I then presented you all to The Lovely Ladies as a gift to them on my 2 month AR anniversary. It is amazing how much networking you can do with just a contact and your imagination!

Thank you for noticing my networked contacted imagination!

Angus...what are you saying???? You do a great job and you have all your cows to back you up! It sounds as though you may be feeling a little mooish. We love ya! And we think you are a fabulous blogger.

Heck, I even made a donkey of myself at "Lovely Wife's" Anniversary Party...too much champagne, I'm sure.

Get back to mooing and swinging your tail like a CA cow!

Dear Mr. Moo, love you too! Or are you "full of bull"? But networking is the name of the game and I'm rolling the dice first.

AR is not church; it's OK to goof around and have fun if you want.

Even the word below is fun: Cantaloupe

I like Cantaloupe

TLW - Marketing genius!

Arrgh! I forgot Maureen! She was the first one to email and let me know that I needed to participate in something. How could I forget Maureen Francis ? And Roberta Murphy for nominating me... and Kristal Kraft  for jumping in with a second! That's the problem with naming names...

Gena - you say the nicest things... but I really was looking more to elevate all of your efforts  :) I'm learning as I go.

Karen - Maybe full of bull... but having fun.

Linda - You are the Trade show queen... I'm not even on the same level as you

Jim - I prefer Cantaloupe to Pomegranate, but I guess that I've got what I've got.

"The Lovely Wife Here"

You all remember me right? Good. I have more mouthing off to do here! Go figure.

Moo do you realize that you have trademarked yourself in the rain. I mean really! Angus aka Moo...

Think about that and then take one of those Gentlemenly bows that you guys take. I tip my cowgirl hat to ya' Buddy.

Hey everybody let's gang up on Angus and shoot (BAM) his post through the RainRoof! That would be fun....

You gotta enjoy yourselves guys this is a tough business to be in. Ain't it great to know that when the day is over you can come into the rain and mouth off about it!

Another benefit you can mouth off before work, during work, after work and in the middle of the night when sleep is eluding you. And so on and so forth.

Enjoy it guys I know I do...Yipee...For a little RainSpace!

Loved the post!  You have a way with words, so don't give us this story about working on your "networking skills", you are great!!  AR is definitely about good relationships but now I am confused...I have a picture of a cow howling like a fox.

TLW is so right. Angus you have strung some days in a row when you are not active on active rain and the withdrawals for some of us start setting in....you have branded (pun intended) us with your bovine presence and we miss you when you are not here. I am not even sure you realize how many times people yap about you in posts that you probably don't even see (and no I am not talking about my blogs).  Thanks for coming in from the pasture and visiting with us again!

Ines - Thanks so much for the kind words! But this has really been a growing experience. I'm getting better... but as I mentioned in an earlier post (someday) in the beginning I wasn't even answering the folks nice enough to add their comments.

Carole - I do sometimes miss stuff, the past week has been difficult as I have been busy taking care of some "business re-organizing"  and haven't much energy for the blogging. I think that things are settling down some.

Angus, Joel Achenbach who has to be one of the funniest and best writers at the Washington Post, posted on his blog today about his neighbor named Angus and his grilling.....I of course thought of you.

And what do you mean working on re-organizing...we are supposed to work? I thought we only had to blog :-)

The "other" Maureen, the #1 Maureen on AR, MF, Dmity's wife... was the one who wrote a blog entry telling us not to talk behind one anothers back... or actually more importantly to let one another know when we are talking behind one anothers back...or mentioning one another.  Out on the blogosphere some but not all blogs have track back which helps you to know when someone is talking behind your back (about you.. has mentioned your blog...) "it is a good thing..." unless of course it is a snarky mention...and even then it is a thing.

cowOn Columbus Best Blog I don't have trackback ... I rely on who traffic is coming from (Google analytics, Stat meter) and Technorati to find who is talking about me.... Here I stumble over it eventually even with out an Active Rain email saying "Heads up - I'm talking behind your back" but I love the "heads up" emails.

I think having fun is a good thing....

Mr Moona Lisa: I am stumbling in, late to the party as usual. I like the friendly notification.

Who knew cows could be so much fun!

Active Rain has brought so many--and so much-- together. I won't even begin to name names because the list would be soooo long.

Angus, there weren't any brown cows at this blogging party (no not the Las Vegas one, this one) so I brought one along as my guest. He's kinda cute and furry wonder if he's British. He says Moo with an accent. Hmm I am bringing a minor to a party. I best keep an eye on him.
