Sunday, I needed to take some more photos of 2 lots I have listed to replace the wintery snowy photos from April. I also wanted to put a sign on a 3rd lot.
Our grandson, who is 7 and our granddaughter 5, came along with me.
The first lot was exciting, we hiked around, and they had a lot of fun exploring the different rock outcroppings and trails.
The second lot was about 20-25 miles away, several times, they wondered "When will we be there" and "Are we there yet, Grandma?"
When we arrived, my granddaughter exclaimed "Why did you bring us back to the same place? We were just here!" For a little person, I guess all the trees and everything look the same.
Sometimes, I think all the real estate photos of vacant land start to look the same, too!
The real estate sign was leaning and ready to fall over on this lot.
My grandson decided to gather rocks to prop up the sign legs.
I really appreciated his help and problem solving technique and I took the mallet from the back of the car and pounded the sign in as far as I could, just to be sure.
This is a lot that might have a small view of the lake through the trees. When I mentioned a lake, my grandson took off down the hill, determined to find it.
His sister and I followed him, and she worried how we would ever find the car when it was time to go.
I believe this is where she announced that she really didn't like hiking that much. :-)
After going to get ice cream, to the playground and stopping by the office to get that other sign...we finally took a break for lunch.
I know- Ice Cream BEFORE lunch?
Well, lunch was late, and I'm the grandma, so I can get away with stuff like this!
They ate their ice-cream by Hiawatha Lake.
Each time we got in the car, they would ask how far is it to the next stop...and "are we there yet" but when it was time to go to the 3rd lot, my granddaughter asked, "How many miles will we have to walk?" LOL
Well, the grandchildren declared the 3rd lot the best lot ever. Maybe it was because of all the sparkly rocks they found there (slices of sandstone sprinkled with mica) or maybe it was because I just installed the sign and we didn't walk up and down and all around, or maybe they liked this lot best simply because.
You never know what will attract people to one lot over another....
~
On our way home we spotted a herd of antelope in Owl Canyon, too.
We had to stop and look at them through the binoculars
All in all it was a great day!
