Get Your Keys With Your Locks To Move On.

This is to get productivity happening, to get something done, to not procrastinate, to not reach age 100 and say what? I got nothing done. If you look around the vast majority of people DO NOT have their keys with the locks. There is thought involved at first to THINK to get the key with the lock, and then there is the space management thing where PHYSICALLY the key and the lock go together. The lock is essentially the item to be acted upon, and the key is what sets things in motion.

Simple example, to fax a document. If the document (the lock) remains in your briefcase and is driven around town all day never seeking out that fax machine, NOTHING happens. You with your massive post caveman or cavewoman brain have got to get that document close to the fax machine (the key). THEN something happens. YOU finally will be productive for one minute of your life.

Get your keys with your locks and live happily ever after. Don't, and your life will persist down a road that is a complete mess.

Some more examples:

Lawn (lock)   Lawnmower (key)

Client relationship needs development (lock)    Lunch (key)

Roadside litter making community looking trashy (lock)   Organize a weekend cleanup  (key)

Don't know some new technology (lock)    Get yourself educated  (key)

Clients don't know you are in real estate (lock)   Prospecting techniques focused on them  (key)

Car sitting on new car lot waiting for you (lock)    You have the key in hand with how rich you are with this idea (real key)

Wow, Gary!  I need to heavy up my old key chain!  Of course, I'll separate my car keys from the rest.

Hi Gary... what an interesting perspective.  I never would have thought about things in this manner, but now it's in the front of my mind... kind of like a song you can't get out of your head!  :)

Exactly my thoughts today. I wrote an email to motivate some people today that just don't use their key to open the lock.

That's a lot of keys Gary, I think I need a universal remote :-)  I know exactly what you're saying though, very well said and so true.

Good advice as usual Gary.  One of the objections I have had with some of these get on with life quick... is that just visualizing is not enough.. One must get the key... take some action.. make things happen.

I am a big believer in getting things together that are apart that need each other. The separation of the lock and the key is why each (the lock and key) gather dust or rust. Ah, but with togetherness the world changes....

What a creative way to make a great point that is unfortunately so often true.  I sure know I've been guilty of mixing up locks and keys or forgetting the keys!

Thanks to Patricia Kennedy for her Sunday Blog which sent me this way.
