What Impression is Your Listing Giving - For the Birds, Bland or Wow?

Home Stager with Creative Concepts-Home Staging and Contracting, Salem Oregon CCB #180695

Once upon a time in the peaceful city of Keizer Oregon there was a beautiful home waiting for a new owner.

Potential buyers passed it by, thinking it was for the birds!

. . .

When it was vacant, the home was bland and several incidents

of snow blindness were reported.

vacant homes don't show well to potential home buyers

Room sizes and features were overlooked due to blandness of home

. . .

The resourceful listing agent was not going to let this home linger on the market any longer and hired a professional home stager to create a new image for her listing.

With a limited budget what can be done?

A little staging magic . . . and from the moment buyers enter this spacious home, they will find it welcoming and be able to envision the  lifestyle available within these walls!

Wow - This home looks interesting!

I'm a believer in staging.  Now all I have to do is find a local staging expert (who also happens to be affordable).l

What is it about those floor lamps these days?? Your photo is the 3rd one I've seen in a month, two here in Dallas.  Those birds... now I have one I wouldn't mind adding to that cage myself... my own! Good points Margaret!

Margaret - If you haven't found a stager her on ActiveRain you may try here (Real Estate Staging Association).  Having a fee structure that clients can afford is important and our clients say they receive a huge return on investment on their staging $$!

Karen - I agree - looks like an alien landed in this living room!

Cameron - Hard for sellers in a short sale to afford much staging isn't it.  We've done consults and some staging in that situation.  Even on a zero budget, there is so much that can be done to improve the look of a home!

Dan - Thanks.  Buyers have a strong impression from the first picture. If its not fabulous, they will click on by.  Most can't relate to granny furniture or birdcages!

Cathy Lee - It was a frigid wasteland - and the only thing to look at is any imperfection in the carpets or wall.  I know you spice them up beautifully too!

Jim - I think I can get you a package deal with the light and deliver it to you!

Margaret - glad to see the birds have flown this coop.  The contrast of the dark furniture with the light surrounds really helps to add interest and warmth.  You did a great job.

I can't imagine how many people with allergies overlooked that home because of the wonderful bird pictures in the MLS.
