Stand For Our Flag!
Memorial Day is upon us once again, and as we plan for the fun things we are going to do, let's please not forget the reason we have this holiday.
To remember those who sacrificed everything, so we could live in this great country!
It is proper, and we need to be aware that we stand when the American flag goes by. We place our right hand over our heart, and we respectfully pay respect by not speaking when "Old Glory" passes.
That's what Americans do!
nicely said!!! i am 42 and i must say that the younger generation are showing less and less respect for the flag and what it took to earn our freedom... I wish there was more rtaught about it in the school system
And here I thought Memorial Day was the nationwide celebration of my birthday, May 30th! DON'T EVEN ASK HOW OLD1 Truly to me it"s a day of remembering those who came before us it's been fun to take my granddaughter Cayla to see the headstones of her ancestors and to lay flowers there like I did when I was her age.
To me it is so important to remember what came before us and the American spirit plus what they sacrificed which is part of why we can also celebrate Fourth of July.
Thanks for your Post and I agree with Ken as well -- what it all meant seems to be disappearing when I feel it needs to be revived.

We must never forget! We have our freedom because someone else gave up theres. Men died so we could have our freedom and I will never forget that.
