Myrl ~ We sure do have a lot to be thankful for, don't we.  I wouldn't want to live in any other country!

Myrl,

Every community in America should be honoring the veterans who didn't return this weekend.

Dawn - I have a couple countries I wouldn't mind spending an extended time in - namely Italy and Ireland. . .But, I would always want to come home!

Richard - I absolutely agree with you!  A few days in remembrance, and the opportunity to honor, is a small price to pay for what our veterans have given us.

Myrl, Last year I went to our Veterans Memorial celebration and it made for the most memorable Memorial I have ever had.  I'm planning on going again this year.

Myrl - Thank you for this post. The fact that we can be on this blog and make candid statements and worship God free of persecution are freedoms paid for by those who fought for our country.

Marchel - The Memorial Day that I remember most, is actually the one immediately following 9-11.  That particular Fourth of July was also memorable!

Paul - I have many "lucky" ones that returned home to my family too!  I'm very grateful to and for them!

Suzanne - I think we take many of our freedoms for granted.  It isn't until we look around to certain other parts of the globe, that we can put what we have in proper perspective!

Hi Myrl: Yeah, I remember the Memorial Day immediately following 9-11 as well. As for the Jazz festival, I overheard some doctors at UC Davis yesterday saying there are places where you can stand under the bridge and hear the music without paying to get in. LOL.

Elizabeth - You know what, that's a great idea!  I'll bet the acoustics from having the music bounce off the bridge would make it pretty good too!
