Day 70 – 365 Things To Do In Bellingham, WA – Ski to Sea Weekend

By
Real Estate Agent with eXp Realty

Bellingham's Annual Ski to Sea takes place over Memorial Day weekend every year. The events have already begun with last weekends Junior race and parade. Don't miss this weekends events. The  7 Sport Relay Race covering over 90 miles from Mt Baker to Bellingham Bay is the main event taking place Sunday May 30, with a big party "Where it all ends in Fairhaven."  Music, food, fun, vendors, lot's of people.

The Race itself starts on Mt Baker with downhill and cross country skiing, then a series of runners, bikers, canoers, and finally ends up in Bellingham Bay on a kayak, with the finish line in Fairhaven. It draws people from around the world. The race has a colorful history that dates back to 1911.

Looks like fun. Are competing?

When I lived in California we used to have the surf and ski classic. Surf contest in Huntington Beach in the morning followed by down hil ski contest in Big Bear that afternoon. Some of the competitors were really hardcore atheletes.
