Last month I had re-blogged a post looking for assistance and votes to get a $50,000 grant for Camp Tadma, here in Ct from Pepsi. Camp Tadma is a cub scout camp in the eastern end of Connecticut and had been operating at a loss the past couple of years. The purpose of the grant was to get the necessary funding to update the camp and have it ready for another summer of camping.
The plea was sent out here on ActiveRain just before the end of voting period. The results were announced on May 22, and Camp Tadma received enough votes to qualify for it's $50,000 grant. Pepsi awarded numerous grants but for the scouts in Eastern Ct, none could be more important than this.
Thank you to the Activerainers that took a few seconds of their time to vote. The entire Pepsi awards can be seen on their award site. If there is a charity or group in your area that could use some assistance and somebody has the inclination to go through the process of creating a plan, Pepsi runs these programs on a monthly basis, for several different grant values.
As for Camp Tadma, the money will be used wisely and hopefully be appreciated with the smiles of the campers that attend.
