How You Doin'?

With the expiration of the Homebuyer tax credit, has it affected your business at all? Did you notice a difference to begin with? I sure did. Selling REO properties in Texas, my inventory went from full to the brim to almost non-existent. Am I complaining? Not at all, I enjoyed seeing buyers take advantage of a great program. Keeping track of who utilized the credit after they closed, I realized most of my foreclosures were purchased by buyers who were not eligible to take advantage of this credit. So the question becomes whether the tax credit really kept my market alive or if these buyers would have purchased anyway, without the incentive from the government. Well? The results are still out.

Ms Shinsky, did you have many buyers that took advantage of the program to purchase foreclosures ? If so that's great,,I did use the program and had great luck helping buyers get into their first homes.  How is your foreclosure market?

Honestly Tim, I don't work a lot of buyers. I really don't think I had many buyers use the tax credit though after polling the buyers that purchased my foreclosure listings. My inventory almost went to nothing but has since bounced back to where it was with prelist and preforeclosure. I'm glad you made some pennies with the program, here's hoping the success continues.
