Summer is literally around the corner, and for those of us in the Chicago area, it means the start of the Ravinia season!
Ravinia is a North Shore gem--a pavilion and open air venue perfect for enjoying wonderful music on summer evenings since 1904. Great for picnicking with or hosting parties, Ravinia is a summer ritual here. Just grab a blanket, a bottle of wine and some good food and friends, and you're set. Parking is available, and the park is accessible by train.
This summer's line up is amazing and includes: Sting (2 nights!), Sheryl Crow, Jethro Tull, Counting Crows, The BoDeans, John Hiatt, Carrie Underwood,the music of Abba...ofcourse tons of classical choices, and lots of kids features, such as Ralph's World and Tom Chapin...and so much more--check out Ravinia.org for the full calendar and lots of other details.
