My Birthday happened to occur right around the time of the IPad release, and I was lucky enough to get one at the launch. I love tech gadgets, and being in real estate gives us the perfect reason to have the latest tech gadgets.
It was amazing to see how quick my kids picked it up and starting using the device so intuitively!
There are already plenty of cool apps for kids that are designed for the Ipad, and most of the Iphone apps work too.
My sons favorites are
1. Dr Suess's A.B.C.. This is a great app that really takes advantage of the IPad's potential. My kids are engaged by the story telling, and the pages are interactive, so that when he presses on different characters they make sounds. He loves it.

2. Super why! . This is a iphone app, but works well on the ipad too. Based on the PBS show, it is 2.99 and well worth the cost. I think that it is heping my son recognize letters, and numbers.
3. 123 Color HD. This is a very cool paint by numbers style of app. There are many templates to choose from and the goal is to match the correct letter or number to the area on the picture. When you finish it plays a song, and gives him a reward. In two weeks he has mastered recognizing numbers and letters. This is a must have app if you get an Ipad and have kids!
The Ipad will outlast anyone too. I am really impressed with the battery life. It really lasts all day and night with near constant use. Make sure and get the case too. That's really important, but now after nearly two months it's still doing great. Also, it can help getting kids to sleep too!
