Builders "get" Green....Why don't we?

By

I met a builder at the National Association of Home Builders conference last week in Raleigh. He had just finished teaching a NAR Green class in Connecticut. At the beginning of the class, he asked people to raise their hand if they were not really interested in green, but just taking the class to get the required credits to renew their licenses. All but 3 realtors in the room raised their hands. Green is the color of money. Green houses in Oregon sell for 15% to 30% more. They sell faster. And Green is the Right thing to do. So, catch up with the people who are building the homes we sell: Green means dollars. If we want to sell the homes, we need to understand and appreciate Green.

Great blog Zeta,

We must go green to help and improve our enviorment.  Too bad we cannot help the animals that are being smothered in the oil. This is such a sad situation!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and be SAFE!

Zeta, I feel this is going to be the next big wave in home building. With the economy being the way it is I hope people have learned to live within their means and see the value behind green homes, both in saving money and the environment.
