While I was at my Open House today, I had the windows open since it was so beautiful outside. At about 2:00, I heard someone yell, “MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.” I walked to the window to see what was going on. There was a guy at the door of one condo, and he had said something to the condo owner which apparently didn't sit very well. I found out that they had a disagreement over the proper display of the United States flag. Here is how the condo owner was displaying the flag: Whenever the United States flag is displayed vertically, the Union (the 50 stars on the blue background) should be in the upper left. So here is how his home should look: I learned that from my dad, who is buried in Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. I don't know how the Good Samaritan Patriot approached the condo owner Patriot, exactly what was said or how it was said, but I would think that someone who is already displaying three flags would want to know the proper way to display the flag. On the other hand, we are in California where people can be a little sensitive to unsolicited help from others.

Very interesting information Jim. Being Canadian I didn't know there was a right and wrong way to display the American flag. Obviously the condo owner didn't either. But he was being patriotic so that must mean something??? I hope the two worked out their differences peacefully.
The flag represent so much to so many people...
We should have a lot of respect and honor to what it represent...
Sheesh: Me thinks that the person receiving the advice was overly sensitive and that the giver of advice was only trying to help. Especially since the receiver is the one who yelled. Jim, I learned something about you today, your dad must have been a great patriot!
