SPEECHLESS SUNDAY: Ashes to Ashes

By
Industry Observer

I spotted this jar on the counter at a favorite local restaurant.  Dallas restaurants do not allow smoking... and I noticed a few of the waitstaff missing on this visit.  Kind of makes me wonder... hmmm....

Can't your office afford a nicer urn? ;o)  Just make sure you don't get placed in there.... :o)

Steve:  Ahhh... I finally found a place where I can go... and rest in peace.  I might, however, prefer a little more decorative jar.  Perhaps something with either kittie cats or butterflies on it.  Can you fix that ?

Shirley gives me a great idea.  I guess there's more than one way... to "urn" a living... LOL.

Steve:

This is one way to intimidate people into behaving properly, or are these their cigarette ashes from smoke breaks?

I hope they explain the results of bad behavior in their employee manual.

But yes, gotta love the sense of humor!

Hi Shirley... It's not at my office.  There it would have to be "Ashes of Problem Independent Contractors!" LOL

Hi Karen Anne... I've got you down for the kitty and butterfly urn.  There is a slighly higher cost for that model, but I will negotiate a deal for you!

Hi Dick and Dixie... and the food is good there too!  :)

Hi Claudette... Hmmm... I hadn't considered the intimidation effect!  I'm not sure what is really in the jar, but it didn't appear to be cigarette ashes to me.

Hi Thom... Ha!  Now that's my favorite response so far!

Hi Russell... And that is yet another good option!  Hope that you are doing well my friend!

Steve:  I can't wait for Virginia to get to this point of disallowing smoking in the restaurants.  As a non-smoker, I hate going to sports bars for instance where there are tons of smokers.  It smells gross and makes my food smell gross.

Steve,

Did the missing employees smoked themselves to death?   Thank you for the chuckles.  :)
