Yet Another Thing to Love About Fort Worth, TX...West 7th Movie Tavern

As if I didn't love Fort Worth enough already, I have found another reason.  The West 7th Movie Tavern is not your ordinary movie tavern, it is so much more.  It is in the heart of one of Fort Worth's newest and most upcoming areas, the West 7th Street area, or aka So 7.  There are many new places to discover in the area and one of my most recent favorites is the West 7th Movie Tavern.  I have now visited the tavern twice in the last week and both times I was impressed.  I wasn't sure if the parking situation would be a problem, but it turned out to be easy breezy and we were lucky enough to find a primo spot right in front.  For those of you that have trouble parallel parking, there is no need to worry even if you don't decide to park in the garage you might be lucky enough to find one of the curbside spots available.  The designers were geniuses as the way they designed the parking spaces is such as even the worst parker can manage to get their vehicle safely in the spot with no real chance of hitting another car as there are landscaped curbs that divide the spaces.  I have to admit that I am no expert on the parallel parking thing, but twice now I was able to slide right into the spot with no problems.

Inside was even better.  You can pay downstairs at the automated checkout or go upstairs to the box office, but both times there was no line to pay.  The theaters are upstairs and they are nice.  Leather seats with adjustable tray tables with little buttons to call your server.

Now for the food.  This was not your usual movie theater or even tavern fare.  The food was better than many restaurants.  Now the tricky part for me is eating in the dark and trying to pay attention to the movie at the same time.  So now I know that it is best to order something easier to eat.  The first time was a yummy wrap, but the second time I wised up and ordered the tempura battered crab.  YUM!!!

I am jealous of the lucky peeps that have made the wise choice to move into So 7 and are able to partake of all of the new businesses and restaurants that are opening in the area.

John- you are right.  I did enjoy the food very much.  I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised the first itme and the second time it was just as good.

I live nowhere near there (I'm in the Detroit Area), but your description makes me think that the So 7 is one of the premier places to live within the Ft. Worth/Dallas Area.

I could see me being so engrossed by my food that I'd forget a movie was playing.  After eating, I'd blame the movie for not developing its plot well enough (even though I didn't pay attention during the beginning when my mind went to my mouth).

How soon before you go for a THIRD time, Samantha?

Chris- You are right.  So 7 is one of the premier places to live and shop in Fort Worth.  Funny about blaming the the movie for not having good plot development, because it is hard to pay attention to the movie while trying to eat in the dark and not spill since you can't see, but other than that it is a fun time.

Sara- I would highly recommend you do check it out.  The new development has several restaurants and shops to draw your attention.  I feel very lucky to live in Fort Worth, where new develpments are thriving and the real estate business is as well.
