Memory Gardens Memorial Day Ceremony

Each year in the City of Brea, Memorial Gardens honors those who've served our country with the "Avenue of Flags".

Flags are placed by local scouts in memory of those who served our country. Today, May 31, 2010 is no exception.

An 11:00 service open to the pubic, free of charge, Monday May 31, 2010.
Location, 455 W. Central Avenue, Brea ~ West of Brea Blvd.

Those of us who live in Brea and surrounding cities know this to be an annual event, and I've attened the service many times myself. The photo (center) is other family members at one of the events.

In the event your not able to attend the service, take the time to stop by and view the sea of American Flags, it's a spectacular sight!

Hi Lynda, I love a sea of Flags and would love it if on our four ( possibly 5) Flag display holidays, to see every street in America lined with them. There could never be too many to please my eyes. With flags lining every street, maybe then we could have at least one full size flag for each person that was sacrificed for our freedom. Wouldn't that we amazing!

People have been noticing that the interest level and particiaption this year seemed reater than years past. Have you noticed any difference in the participation level in your area?

Hi William ~ Normally I see a lot of flags in the area, about the same this year.

Bill ~ This year I did something completely different, I attended a Memorial Day event at the Palm Springs Airport Museum. They did an amazing fly over of a WWII B-25 that showered 3,000 flowers from the sky as a tribute to our military.
