I hope that each and everyone of you are having a wonderful Memorial Day. I hope that you are doing exactly what you want to be doing whether it's laying by the pool, barbeque-ing, having fun with family and friends, reading blogs on Active Rain or watching TV. Whatever it is, I hope you are doing it.
We, my husband and I, opted to stay home (*all day), we watched Clint Eastwood movies (Clint is 80 years old today, so they had an all day marathon), played games on the computer, read the paper, had mimosas, blogged, worked on my website, played with the cat and later we will have briskit, potato salad, deviled eggs and usual holiday sides. It has been a wonderful day.
With that said, I feel we are so blessed. I am melancholy because our soldiers overseas can't do anything or whatever they like. They probably won't be having the same meal I am whipping up. They probably won't be watching the same kind of fireworks that I will see tonight. They probably won't be going to bed in the same safe cozy, comfy bed that I have. I just want them to all come home safe and sound. I want for them...that the most excitement for their next Memorial day will be the Clint Eastwood movie marathon and what to eat next. I pray for their families and the fallen soldiers and their families. Come home soon!!
