I am sad for those who have not experienced NASCAR * although I do not actually go to races, I do watch the "race day" and pre-race shows and the pagentry is exciting AND their LOVE of the military is legendary.  I suspect Lowe's Motor Speedway and NASCAR gave these troops free entry to the race and the "command" to start the race was given by military families!

Two things that are great about NASCAR: 1) they aren't afraid of have God at their events (a benediction always starts the race) and 2) they are extremely patriiotic.  I LOVED the pre-race stuff.  It was awesome.
