June's BBQ Rib Rub

I love to barbecue.  And, now that the summer season is upon us, I would much rather cook out in my back yard than cook in my house.

Today I made barbecue ribs.  And, they were awesome (if I do say so myself).

Here's my recipe for a dry rib rub.  This is a combination of several recipes and me adding things that my family likes.

June's BBQ Rib Rub

6 tbsp kosher salt

1/3 cup light brown sugar

1/3 cup sugar

1/4 cup paprika

2 tbsp oregano

2 tbsp basil

2 tbsp thyme

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper

2 tsp sage

1 tsp. mustard powder

1/2 tsp. ground ginger

1/2 tsp. smoked paprika

1/4 tsp. ground allspice

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, stir to combine.  Be sure to crumble any lumps that may form with the sugar or spices.  Use for meats and seafood to be grilled, as well as for making the barbecue sauce.  Any unused rub may be stored in an airtight container and kept in a cool dry place for up to 6 weeks.

Today I used this on ribs then after they were almost cooked I brushed on some barbecue sauce.  I have also used this rubbed on a whole pork loin and baked in the oven, rubbed on pork chops and cooked, rubbed on beef roast and baked in the oven.

I maybe a little late on a response, but do you have any left over ribs? :)
