Trips across Lake Winnipesaukee, NH to Wolfboro for groceries and gift items, was always a fun ride in the boat.
Coming into Wolfboro, one of the nice spots you see first is the public park. This is a nice spot to sit and enjoy watching all of the boat activity in this busy town.
We were very surprised not to see more activity on the lake... the towns , restaurants, and the lake itself were fairly quiet considering that it was Memorial Day weekend. Perhaps things will pick up when schools get out mid June.
We had heard last night before bed about the fires in Quebec, and were interested in checking the news about it in the morning. Today, Monday, we got up to the thick smell of smoke. We looked out into a thick heavy layer of smoke, also. By afternoon, apparently, the smoke had blown all the way down to Cape Cod! On Lake Winnipesaukee, the smoke was beginning to lift by early afternoon, but still present.
