BP Oil Spill - Don't Feel Helpless Anymore: Here is How You Can Help

 

1. Participate! Talk, write, blog, videotape, take pictures. Share & Disseminate information about the oil spill. Share information about the BP oil spill on Social Media. Join some of the Facebook Groups dedicated to the oil spill clean-up and participate. Share information on your Facebook wall and Tweet it. 2. National Protest begins Memorial Day Weekend, May 29 & 30. Spread the word! Team up with friends and stand in front of a BP, Arco, and Safeway gas station. 3. Boycott BP. The easiest way of all: stop supporting BP by not buying any of their products. If every one of us simply did this one easy thing, BP would not have the power it has. Just do it! Stop buying BP, no matter how convenient it might be. http://boycottbp.blogspot.com/

4. Collect and send in water samples. Project Tantalus is a grassroots effort to collect water samples from coastal areas that may have been affected by the Deepwater Horizon spill. The samples will be subjected to chemical analysis, and results will be publicly disclosed. http://bit.ly/H2OSmpl

5. Report incidents: smoke, oil, anything of value related to the spill - Oil Spill Crisis Map: http://oilspill.labucketbrigade.org/

6. Participate in Grass Roots Mapping: We're helping citizens to use balloons, kites, and other simple and inexpensive tools to produce their own aerial imagery of the spill… documentation that will be essential for environmental and legal use in coming years. http://grassrootsmapping.org/
