Montgomery County - Recycling Tips

Last year, detached single-family and townhouse residents in Montgomery County, Maryland recycled almost 75,000 tons of paper. Residents and businesses are currently recycling about 42% of all their wastes overall, steadily approaching the target of 50%. However, nearly, 55,000 tons of potentially recyclable paper went into the trash. The Division of Solid Waste Services accepts most clean and dry paper, including cardboard. Junk mail, books, boxes and envelopes with plastic “windows” are also okay. Put paper and cardboard items with foil or plastic coatings into your trash.
