If you haven't, you should see Salt Lake City's "The Living Planet Aquarium"

A few weeks ago, my wife, my nieces and I visited The Living Planet Aquarium at its new location in Sandy, Utah.  We had been to their Gateway Mall location when it first was created and we loved it, although we wished it were bigger.

The new location has received some new exhibits such as the jellyfish and local fish.  I particularly liked the simulated boat ride on the Great Salt Lake, although it was hard to persuade my nieces to let the other kids have a turn.

This post is mostly to encourage anyone who hasn't been there yet to go and see what it is about.  Even though the future aquarium will be much better and larger, the preview exhibit still offers some fascinating sights for us Utahans who might not get to the coast that often.  Kids absolutely love it.  They seem to love touching the rays and the other animals at the Bio-facts station.  And if they're into stuffed animals, there are a lot to choose from in the gift shop.

I suppose I should also put in a plug for people to donate to the aquarium so that it can become a reality for our community.  I think it will be a great learning experience for adults and youth alike.
