Hurricane Season is here

By
Real Estate Agent with Re/Max Masterpiece Realty

As of June 1st we officially entered Hurricane Season. We were pretty lucky last few years but living in Florida you have to be prepared. What do you need to know when buying a house during Hurricane Season? You may have issues obtaining Homeowner Insurance.................................Picture below shows map with "outlined box" around Florida. When Hurricane enters this "box" - even if it moves in completely different direction than Florida, you will have issues ( may not even be able ) to obtain Insurance so try to take care of this  as soon as possible after having bilateral contract on your " Dream Home". Of course - don't go crazy. If it is Short Sale and you don't have bank's approval yet, it is not necessary to commit yourself to insurance policy.

Yep they quit writing insurance when the storm gets "in the box"  we lived in Boca Raton for 2 years and back in Louisiana now where we also understand that concept.  Hope its not a busy hurricane year storms stay away please!
