Looks like Facebook has once again updated how you can control your the information you share in your profile.  It actually looks like they have made the entire process of updating your privacy settings easier.  Instead of fiddling with multiple pages like you used to, you can now access all of your privacy settings on a single page, in a more user-friendly manner.  A screen shot of the new privacy settings can be seen below:

While this does make things a lot more convenient for Facebook users, the one feature that really caught my attention was the fact that anyone can now completely turn of Facebook Platform applications and websites.  What does this mean?  Well, it means you can now prevent your information from being shared with applications, which has been a controversial topic in the past.  To disable this information sharing with applications, just uncheck the  “Enable instant personalization” box.

In addition, it looks like some new Page-oriented privacy settings have now been made available.  People will now have the option to prevent others from seeing pages they like as well as prevent others from seeing them in the “People who like this” boxes.

I don’t know about you, but I am quite happy these new privacy settings are now available to everyone.  It also looks like they may be rolling out additional settings in the upcoming weeks, so I’ll be looking forward to seeing what those are about as well…

Hello Josh - Thanks for the Facebook information.  I hate to admit that I haven't been paying much attention to Facebook lately.
