How to read only the best of what I read

So I love Google Reader. I probably spend 1/6th of my most productive work time reading blog posts on my reader. According Google Reader statistics, I follow 114 blogs, reading about 150 blog posts every day. That much reading is borderline ridiculous. That is if I didn't consider it an essential part of my job. Being in the idea generation business, I need to keep my head fuled with information.

This is relevant to you, because Google Reader has this great feature called "Shared Items" which allows me to publish a stream of blog posts that I find most interesting. You can subscribe to this feed, or you can bookmark this link, and view my shared items like you would any other blog.

My shared items will mostly be real estate tech related, but I am sure other stuff that is interesting to me will slip in.

I agree that is a very good way to stay up with technology when everyone else reads other areas the blogs are short and sweet to keep the information flowing.

RSS feeds may replace a lot of ads and followups - you subscribe when you're interested, and when you're not, you unsubscribe. After that, it's over. It's not like giving someone your e-mail address when they can hound you forever - or until you get a new address.

wow - that's really cool. I'm going to follow your shared items and see what's there. I love google reader too. I didn't even realize about how the shared items work though. That really is excellent now that I see the benefit. I had never really thought about it. I learn new stuff about it all the time. I really like the trends, because it helps me figure out what I am really reading and what I am deleting (thought I would read, but didn't end up actually reading :)

Had to stop by again (I seem to be commenting on your blogs a lot today :) But I was reading through your shared items and I found this.... how to pay off your subprime mortgage. It was already worth reading through your shared when I found this one. I truly laughed out loud. I thought that was great.
