Hello Realtors

I was just wondering I use to do this a very Long,Long, time ago but stopped since I found it annoying on the receiving end.

However, I was curious as to what your feelings about it are?

What I am talking about is promoting your listing by using a mass email type company for instance, zipyourflyer, or whatever other companies do this to send out "new listings flyer, price reduction, brokers open house, etc. to agents emails.

I know I now just block 99% of them and send it to junkmail. I really don't need an additional 100 emails a day to look at.

But do you think read them, should I start doing them again, or do you just junk mail filter them like I do. Or maybe you find that they work?

Just curious??

Dustin, I hate them and send them to JUNK!! Of course we get these from 17 counties in East Tennessee

and none of them pertain to us.

I find them very annoying unless it is a Realtor I really now well and is need of my help. But just send the flyers agervating I don't even read them.

I am torn by email flyers on MLS. I am not sure that is the good way to spend your money. I do mls searches for the client, but they do make us aware of what is up.

I am the odd (wo)man out! I actually appreciate the e-flyers. I send them out all the time with an opt-out, I've had many Realtors call or e-mail and say they appreciate them also. I've also gotten 'hate mail' from them...so I know there are the wants and want-nots.

I block all emails from that broker. It's just not a thoughtful thing to do and so I don't want anything from them.

Complete junk... in the old market a few years ago when we were waiting for a listing to come on in a certain neighborhood... this would have been useful. But now it is just a waste of time. I was actually going to blog about this but I will give you the very condensed shortened version. Realtors need to quit marketing to other realtors and learn how to market to prospective buyers. Easier said than done I know. But it is the truth of the matter.

I hate'em. I can't really fault those who use them, though. Every once in a while, I'll look at one if it looks like a unique property. Since all advertising is really just a numbers game, I suppose my occassional peak justifies the practice and contributes to the epidemic. My bad.

Dustin - I will always click in to see what it is unless I think it may be a virus, however, I can't remember the last time I ever paid any attention. I hit delete probably 5 seconds after I look at it. I don't think unsolicited emails are effective.

I think its CRAP. If I am looking for homes for my clients...guess what, I HAVE ACCESS TO THE MLS. I know where to look and what to look for. Agents need to stop spamming each other...

In the MLS system I use, you can opt out of these types of mailings so I figure why not send an email about an open house / brokers open / price change on a listing you have. If the agent really doesn't want them they should have opted out of it to begin with and there would be no problem. Just my thoughts.
