It's hard to believe but it's that time of year again - SCHOOL'S OUT!  Okay, almost out.  Beavercreek City School's official last day is Tuesday, June 8, 2010.  While the kiddies are counting the days until freedom, their parents have just been tagged with some decisions to make and planning to do.

CHILD CARE:  Our current daily routine will change drastically when school is out.  Have you made appropriate plans for any changes in your child care needs?  It's not too late but time is of the essence so this would need to be a top priority.

KEEPING THEM BUSY: "Mom, I'm bored."  "Dad, there's nothing to do!"  Sound familiar?  Now that the kids have extra time on their hands, they need extra activities to keep them busy.  You don't have to spend a lot of money to make some great memories.  Have a picnic, create masterpieces on the sidewalk with chalk or go to the park.  Sit down with your kids and make a list of all the fun, inexpensive things they'd like to do this summer.  You might be surprised at what a little imagination and input from your children can do for your summer plans!

KEEP THEM LEARNING: Statistics show that kids lose up to two months of the previous year's education over the summer.  Help them retain some of that by keeping their brains active and inquisitive.  The Beavercreek Community Library is a great resource for summer learning.  Anything can be a learning experience, so stay proactive and help your kids stay smart!

We all know time goes by so fast, but the summer seems to do so at an accelerated pace.  Make your plans now to make sure you don't waste a single second and have your very best summer!
