Fresh strawberries at Olympia Farmer's Market

Olympia's Farmer's Market is just starting to get fresh, locally grown strawberries in - and did they ever go fast!!  When I got to the market, I made a beeline to find the berries and they were already down to less than a dozen little containers.  I quickly bought two - oh my gosh they look good!!

Strawberries sold out fast

By the time I made the rounds to get some other things and came back past the strawberry booth, all that was left was this "Sold Out" sign.  So looks like we better make the ones I bought last til next week!

Fresh cherries

The cherries are also in stock and though more plentiful in quantity, were selling fast too.  So I added a pound of cherries to my bag...

Hanging plants at Farmer's Market

Then I went off to look at flowers, and admired the many glorious hanging baskets - beautiful!

And I did buy some purple wave petunias and these cheery Daisies to add some color to a bare spot in my landscaping.

Whew - a successful stop at the Market - and SO glad I got some strawberries before they were gone!!!

This looks like my kind of place!  We love the fresh strawberries and cherries we get when we visit Washington/Montana each summer.

It's a great Farmer's Market!  And I was so excited to see strawberries today as I thought they'd be a couple weeks out still given all the cool, damp weather we've been having.

How wonderful. My neighbor grows cherries in his back yard. Last week he gave me a huge bag of them. Yum. I love cherries. It's probably my favorite fruit. Funny thing is my neighbor says he doesn't even eat the cherries. My husband thinks he grows them simply to enjoy the blossoms in the spring.

Thanks Ellie - and the berries & cherries WERE delicious!

Hi Elizabeth!  That's funny that your neighbor doesn't even eat his cherries - though it's true the trees are beautiful in blossom, and nice that it means you get to help with the eating!
