Sometimes it doesn't take much to get off track...and then feel like you're spinning your wheels. Buyers, sellers, buyers and sellers, work hard to get the listing, work harder to find the perfect house. At times the question....why am I doing this?, pops into my head and I think about how much easier it would be to go back to a 9-5, take my breaks and lunch hour and then go home...without work on my brain, but, that's when it happens. The look...the hug and the excitement from your buyer when you found the perfect one.
I've been dealing with this same buyer for a few months. Originally, he wanted to purchase a listing that I had which was a short sale....a few months and no progress, he decided to venture out and look at other properties. He's not too picky...a pool would be nice, but, not needed. The biggest requirement was a room or space large enough for his pool table. So, after looking at approximately 10 houses...it was time for him to sit down and re-evaluate his lists of homes and keep plugging along.
I heard about a listing through an agent in my office...called him immediately and advised, let's go look at it right now. We did and that was that. The look on his face was priceless.... he even ran over and gave me a big hug! It was great and I couldn't have been more happy for him. He even called me twice that night after we wrote the offer to thank me again. He had been so disappointed in waiting and waiting for the short sale that he was about at his rope's end. It was so bad, he told me he was dreaming about Mls numbers and addresses.
And now, he realizes, that wasn't the house and that everything happens for a reason. The offer is submitted and we should get an answer tomorrow.
9-5 again.....no way, never got that feeling of satisfaction there.
