Moving To Los Angeles: 6 Part Series on Relocating to Los Angeles for Newbies - Part 1 - The Different Areas of Los Angeles

Los Angeles is an extremely wide geographically disbursed region. We have just about everything here on the geographical spectrum. Mountains, rivers, lakes, desert, beaches, valleys, forests, and more.

The weather in the Los Angeles area is relatively mild and one of the most attractive features to those who have decided to move to Los Angeles.

But the issue for most who want to relocate to Los Angeles is that if they don't know the area, where do you decide to live?

Los Angeles, by most native Angeleno definitions, can be divided into 6 different regions:

San Gabriel Valley
San Fernando Valley
Central LA
WestSide
Santa Clarita Valley
Antelope Valley

Of course each of these regions are divided into different areas that, once again by native Angelo definitions, have some commonly accepted names.

The coast, or beach cities, are located only in the San Gabriel Valley (Long Beach, San Pedro), Central LA (Palos Verdes, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach), and WestSide (Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu)

In upcoming segments, I will discuss the different "flavors" of the various areas in Los Angeles, as well as some geographical and metropolitan traits that these areas are known for, so that you can zero in on certain places with your own set of priorities and wish list.

If you have any questions about Los Angeles, please feel free to contact me at (310) 497-9407 or ralph@laagent.biz. I've been a native Angeleno since birth and will be happy give you the scoop!

Hi, Ralph. What a great idea for a Localism series. Maybe I could do something similar for San Diego County!
