Good reminders, Gita. Too bad courtesy and thoughtfulness are often overlooked--reminders like yours help.
Gita, all of the things listed are common courtesy, it is a shame that some in our profession need to be reminded of such things. A couple of months back I had an agent forget to lock the door when leaving, it is a good thing that I always check the listing after a showing, (vacant listings anyhow). Good reminders...
I agree with Gerry, these are all common courtesy issues and you shouldn't have to ask. Nevertheless, it's a good idea to remind the other agents. The pros will recognize that the gentle reminder is not for them.
Barbara,I agree. Sometimes the sellers have to take little kids with them and it is an inconveniene.

Ellen, Sometimes sellers go though a lot of trouble to prepare for showings like taking the pets or kids out .
Bill, They usually give the window and still show up late.
Kristin, It is difficult to get feedback.
Joan, I agree they should be considerate of sellers.
Scott, If they are in the neighborhood and call at the last minute I tell sellers to request that they show another house in the area and come back. But some sellers may need a few hours notice depending on circumstances.

Vic, I agree. We have all experienced some of these things and ofcourse the sellers get annoyed at us and want to change showing instructions.

Gita, these are all great suggestions!! Especially number 1-2 I can relate with. I remember my mother telling me stories about how a couple of her clients would cancel last minute. one time as she was just stepping out of the house the phone rang. It was the client canceling at the absolute last moment. We've also had clients be 30min late to thier consultation. So yes, we all ask please let us know a day or few in advance :)~laura cerrano

Gita, great post, too bad you have to write it. I am sad that this is an all too common occurance. Hope someday this will be written for a few minority of agents only.

It can be so upsetting for both the agent and the seller when buyers cancel at the last minute. We've had a seller get a cleaning service in to make their house "shined" and the 2 appointments they had cancelled!
Larry and Sheila, I agree it upsets the agents and sellers and the sellers sometimes blame the listing agent.
Thanks for the list. It can be difficult when buyers are late or decide at the last minute to cancel showings. I know how frustrating it is to a seller. It is interesting that clients feel the need to blame agents. But sometimes when sellers are anxious about whether their home will sell and how quickly they need someone to blame and we are the best scapegoat.

Gita, that's not too much to ask of any agent. Great Points! I find so many of our vacant listings not locked or windows open.
Cal, It can be difficult to call but we should call the office if we are running late.
Kay, I was at a vacannt listing yesterday and there were 3 showings recently and no one had left a card.
Being a new agent these are helpful and seemingly comment sense strategies, but when you new sometimes you don't think. thanks for sharing.
