EEE in Southern NH

As reported on LondonderryNH.net, mosquitos tested in towns near Londonderry have tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

But really, how much of a threat is EEE?  Clearly any pathogen transferred by something as ubiquitous and ever present as a mosquito is something to be mindful of, but are we in "peril"?  Is it worth exposing ourselves to more chemicals in the form of insecticides being applied to our schoolyards and playgrounds?

As a homeowner I have taken the initiative to control mosquitos in my yard.  A half acre yard can be protected for under $300.  A propane tank is needed as well as a source of electricity.  Visit http://www.mosquitomagnet.com/ for more information.  It is far more effective than spraying because the millions of trapped mosquitos do not have the opportunity to reproduce, thus there are fewer mosquitos overall.  Killing them is less than half the battle, keeping them from reproducing is the greater gain.
