I don't get cruelty to animals at all! I am with you on enforcing the laws on the books... and that goes for large corporations as well as individuals.
Mean people suck, and I'd like to have about 10 minutes alone with the troglodytes that hurt the dogs. Our dog Max is the guardian of my 4 children and has been a big help with our autistic 5 year old. That dog is the eyes in the back of our head and has corralled him from climbing the fence. He's like a Roman guard with that little boy. It gives me chills. Dogs are God's way of keeping us human.
Jim, I don't get it either, but I taught school for 30 years and I couldn't believe what a parent could do to a child either. These abused and neglected children grow into adults who model their parents' behavior.
Abuse of any kind is intolerable.
Cruelty to animals is worse than cruelty to people. Animals are completely innocent and can't be warned - they just trust that no one will harm them. Jon has some violent suggestions for what should happen to such creeps.
Jim...Animal cruelty is an abhorrent crime. I share your feelings about maximum penalties for those guilty of such actions.
I don't understand it either, Jim. I go nuts when I read the horrible things that people do to our four legged friends. And it's even more disturbing to find out that some of the offenders are so young.
Jim, it is so difficult to understand and really depressing to hear. It makes my heart heavy..truly!
There is no excuse for animal abuse Jim. Utah has finally started getting onboard with Anti-cruelty Laws that I hope will curb this atrocious behavior due to being held accountable for such acts!
Something happened to one of my feral cats......after being missing for months the poor thing showed up at home one day and his tail was gone. Was it an accident or was it meaness? I can't stand to think of it.
Jim, This type of behavior does appear to be on the rise as you said. Every day I click on the animal resuce site because one click gives food to help rescued animals and each day there is a story. So often the stories are of dogs that have been severely abused by their former owners, left to die tied to a tree in the woods in winter or something horrible and yet these rescued creatures after being found, still trust humans.
Along with being incarserated, people that do such crimes should be made to work with animals for the rest of their lives (in a controlled environment) so they can learn to truly love from these giving creatures.
Gloria
Hi Jim,
Cruelty to animals - domestic & wild does seem to on the rise. The stories on the internet & in the news are absolutely horrifying to me. The animals suffer for no reason at the hands of sadistic humans. Yes, these same humans who delight in being cruel to animals, will eventually hurt or take the life of a human being as well. Then there are others who don't care about the animals - their into torture & cruelty because of greed & profit. Laws everywhere need to be changed to protect the innocent.
Hi, Jim. I think people have a lot of pent up rage and frustration. Those who have no coping skills take it out on the defenseless. As the population burgeons and resources shrink, there will be more of this horrifying behavior.
Hey, everyone.
Sorry it's taken me a little while to get back to this blog post of mine. Summer's in full swing and between real estate, chamber music, and Borders, I'm working like a dog I guess you could say.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I'll be by your blogs to do some reading and commenting. Like they say, "Do unto others as they have already done unto you."
If there are any questions or comments that need specific answers or acknowledgment, I'll do that in separate comments below this one.
Again, thanks for stopping by and commenting.
