AIKAHI PARK NEIGHBORHOOD IN KAILUA

This well-kept family neighborhood is in a relatively flat area of Kailua, located on the N. West side of Mokapu Road, bordered by Kaneohe Bay Drive to the Southwest (except for Ilikaa Place, which is West of K Bay Dr. ordinarily considered part of Kalaheo Hillside) and Marine Corps Base Hawaii (Kaneohe Bay) to the North.

Known for its highly regarded public elementary school district (Honolulu Magazine Ranked it #1 in Kailua), this area has mostly single-family homes built in the 1960's, with a smattering of the later decades. Most are slab construction, ranch style, and square footage is all over the board, mostly from 1,200 to 2,000. Lot size varies widely from about 5,200 sq.ft. to over 11,000. Prices range from about $750K to just over $1M making it one of the more "affordable" single-family neighborhoods in Kailua.

Aikahi Park also hosts the Aikahi Garden condominium complex, on Noke Street, for those in the market for 3/2 (1,200-1,400 sq ft) condominiums, priced in the $300-400K's.

Because of its proximity to MCBH, Aikahi Shopping Center, and the beach, this neighborhood is a favorite among current and retired military personnel.

Thanks for the post, but I must say it's not as nice of a neighborhood as it sounds.  Unfortunately, since we left for the mainland in 2004, Aikahi Park has gotten very run down.  Residents are not keeping up curb appeal and there are more and more multi-family homes or ohana rentals popping up.  If owners want to keep up the value and appeal of this neighborhood, they need to do a better job of not having their yard and driveways look junkie.  Surely there should be a limit to the number of cars in driveways? There are inconsiderate people hanging out in yards and carports making noise or driving amped up cars and guning their engines late at night.
