Unemployment Is High.....Great Time To Hire For Those Things We Hate To Do

I am surprised at how many people have real estate licenses and are unemployed. I recently read an article that said that 22% of the unemployed in my county had some form of professional license active...and that another 12% could activate a professional license. Many of these were contractors, but a solid 9% of unemployed people in my county had a real estate license.

What a great opportunity for me to use them in my business model for things I hate to do.

There are things I really hate to do.....yet they are important for a successful real estate team. Here are just a few of them:

1) Door Knock
2) Host Garage Sales
3) Call Expireds/FSBO
4) Tweet
5) Facebook
6) Hyper-local blog posts

Sounds like I'm really terrible at this.....and clearly I'm not capitalizing on these great ways to make contact and that needs to change. I can't just decide that "I'm not going to do these things" and arrogantly move along. I need to outsource these activities. So that's what I'm going to do.

It's tough sometimes to spend money on things we can do for ourselves....but if we are NOT doing it, then those dollars are well spent.

This week, I've put some of this into practice. I've moved forward with outsourcing some of my social media/hyper-local content. I've also hired a licensee to make the phone calls to expired listings for me....she will get a list and collect 20% of the commission for every new listing. I'm also in the process of really defining a geographical farming area...then I will move forward with the door-knocker/garage sale host/hostess.

Real Estate Success is not rocket science....we all know what works. A Team approach is a great way to utilize different talents and strengths to their best advantage.
