42,000 Members!

On 8/3/2007 ActaiveRain hit 41,000 members. In just 5 days over 1,000 new members have been added to our community. The popularity is growing folks! I truly believe that we are seeing exponential growth here and will see 50,000 in less than 2 weeks. I also think we will see that figure double by the end of this year!

If you are currently a member, keep blogging and stay active! If you do not, you will get passed in the rankings by the newbies coming on everyday! Remember to also visit http://www.localism.com/ and add pictures and communities to your area. These "extra" things not only add to your points but your overall rankings in the search engines. Keep up the good work everyone and keep spreading the word! :-)

Tony, have you experienced "bots" that are on here and are used for solicitation purposes? I haven't, but I know a lot of other sites struggle with that...

Now with this many members it is important to remember that AR is not a free for all...

the pictures on Localism are not family photos or random shots but they are supposed to be great photos indicative of life in the area

as more people come on board, the moderators have a tougher and tougher job to accomplish...

it is now that we need to all help the newbies realize why AR is here and what contribution IS and how it will help us all

Good point! It's very cool that this site is growing so rapidly. What a great tool for the real estate community. I'm curious when the LOCALISM site will be promoted heavily and no longer say BETA site, or future sight. Maybe they're waiting until there are enough members.

Jason, I mostly get solicitations from web developers, recruiters, and lead generation sites. Not really sure about bots, but I am sure my email has gone into a lot of "spam" lists because of ActiveRain. Still glad to be on here though!

Rick, there were just over 10,000 members when I signed up in December last year. It took 6 months for the site to grow to 10K. Imagine where we'll be in another year!

Al, I give Localism about 6 more months to really catch on.

It is very exciting that Active Rain has grown so quickly. My experience with AR has always been very positive. The active bloggers seem interested in the success of the group rather than just themselves. I always feel like I walk away with a great tip or encouragement. I look forward to AR keeping that positive energy as it grows.

Thanks for the great tip! - I just went and added some of my favorite scenic photon to localism. Feels nice to share them with everyone.

I joined back in August of 2006. Wow has the network grown. Just last week someone mentioned 42k members and I thought "You've got to be kidding me". It turns out it's for real. Thanks for sharing.
