Jason, I saw the article and my only criticism is the notion of hiring an inspector from "outside" the area----not a good idea really if the buyer is looking for the best information about the property.

Charles - I wasn't aware the article suggested hiring a home inspector from outside the area. At any rate, I agree with you that hiring a inspector from the area in which you live will provide you with the best inspection possible as the inspector will be familiar with any local/regional concerns that an inspector from outside the area may not be aware of. The same argument holds true for appraisers!
