Greetings my fellow Rainers, my name is Darrel and the purpose of this post is to unite for a few moments as many of the hearts and minds of you, my fellow participants in this remarkable community for a very unique and special task.
For two days now I have been pondering doing this and my repeated readings over the past months about the power of the rain within the post from so many of you has convinced me that yes this is not only ok but in truth the right thing to do and the right place to do it.
We live in a world where few take the time to pause and see what is really occurring around them. Our days are filled with personal issues of such consuming importance that we often forget that we are an individual part of a huge a community of like souls which spring from a common element. Consumed by our struggle we take our fight personally and forget that the common element from which we each come forth may just be the saving Grace we are seeking in our moments of greatest need.
Do you believe in Magic, have you read The Secret or watched the film, do you believe in a higher Source, have you ever felt your connection to everything around you, have you ever tried to focus the power of your mind on a particular task that you wish to accomplish or believed that deep within you possess a personal power that if you could only harness; you would have everything you ever wanted in your life?
I personally say yes to all of the above. I believe in possibility. The possibility of anything and I know we are not the powerless individuals our egos and minds would have us think. My goal here is to enlist your help in a project. It won't cost you anything but about 180 seconds of your time but its potential reward is mind bending. If you are willing to give up 180 seconds of your life to make a difference in someone else's life you are indeed a remarkable and special person and I thank you in advance for that.
Although I have been a member of this community for about 7 or 8 months, I didn't really get my feet wet so to speak until about four months ago. I wanted to build my struggling business; I wanted to learn to use the internet because I understood that it is the way of the future and most of all I wanted to learn about blogging.
Active Rain has proved to be fertile ground for someone with seeds of hope and within so many of the post I that have read in the past months I was pleased to discover that there were hundreds of caring and honest individuals who were willing to give of themselves to help others such as myself who were struggling with the things they had themselves come to know and understand.
This entire post is about one such individual. I came to know Karen George initially by reading one of her post about SEO. So impressed by her knowledge and willingness to share it, I subscribed to her blog. I eagerly waited for every new post because I was hungry for all the wisdom about this I could find. I even went backwards to try to pick up everything I had missed in my pre AR days. I grew to love her wit and insight but was really taken back by how willing she and so many others here were to give of themselves for people they didn't even know.
To the point... Two days ago I read her latest post and what in effect was what may be the last one we get to see for sometime while she undergoes another bout with chemotherapy.
See what I didn't know was that while she was so graciously sharing her wisdom with you and I she had for the past two years been waging a battle of enormous proportions in her personal life.
To admit being floored by this news would be an understatement but to me the most amazing part of this was learning that she had been quietly struggling with her personal battles and all the time without complaint or asking for anything in return while giving so unselfishly of herself to help people like me with seemingly such minor problems as SEO issues.
What an incredible giver this lady is; the love she holds in her heart for life and her fellow human beings is admirable. THANK YOU KAREN
Please note that the only communications I have ever had with Karen was through her blog and my comments on it. In her most recent post she told us all about her situation and pointed us to her other blog where she posted thoughts and trials from the beginning. I went to that journal and read it from start to finish and I will say that there was more than one moment that my eyes were filled with tears, not tears of sorrow but rather tears of compassion, love and amazement at this lady's courage and strength. She is a testament for us all and I encourage you to read it.
Ok, here we go. To give you more back ground on my request I will point you to Fire the Grid (read The Story)where you can read where and how I came up with this idea. Please if you can spare the time go there and read how the friends and family of Shelly Yates accomplished the impossible.
The project: Close your office door or find someplace quiet, close your eyes and think peaceful and loving thoughts, offer to your Source your gratitude for your life's blessings and see yourself as the bundle of energy you really are.
Once you have reached a place where you feel love and happiness fill your being, focus your thoughts on Karen. Send to her your love; send her a tiny bit of your infinite healing energy. Visualize it flowing from you to her and see her receiving it.
See your energy join hers and become a vital part of her healing process and give it to her freely with all the love you can muster. Offer thanks to yourself for giving and to Karen for receiving it and know that you have indeed accomplished your part of what some will call a miracle. Hold gratitude in your heart for the rest of the day and see the difference it makes in your day for stepping beyond yourself and reaching out to another fellow human.
Your thoughts and energy will travel to her, she will receive them and they will add to her arsenal the most formidable of weapons that anyone could possess; Love.
See my friend Love can make a difference in every situation. In times such as Karen knows right now, Love does make all the difference.
So I ask you; Please join with me and give a tiny part of yourself for the betterment of our world. Lets join our forces and help Karen get back here doing what we have come to know and love her for. We all will benefit by her continued presence.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and a triple thank you for giving 180 seconds of your precious time and for sharing your energy with another branch on our tree. You will find strength in your deed that will in turn serve you in your times of need.
There are over 41,000 members in our community, never let it be heard that we are powerless. Together we can accomplish the impossible.
