Michael Haltman spoke in front of the Suffolk County Legislature on June 8 regarding the bill I.R. 1412, sponsored by County Legislator John M. Kennedy Jr., which would require the county to obtain and use the services of at least 10 title companies.
At the present time the County works with a select group of companies, which opens up the potential for abuse. It is in every municipalities best interests, particularly in these times of fiscal hardship, to make every effort to minimize expenses while making sure that the process is as efficient as possible.
