Short Sales are different. There are different ways of reporting a short sale and how it will affect your credit score. The lender can report the short sale as:

1. Paid in full - which would be "paid as agreed", however, this is very rare
2. Paid - settled
3. Paid - unrated

In addition, if the owner of a Short Sale property is current with their payments, a Short Sale may only lower the score by 50 points.
