Property Wish List
In an earlier post entitled, First Time Homebuyer Tips on Purchasing, I stated that a buyer should figure out what their wants and needs are in a home. Some of the items I have on the list that I give buyers to fill out include the following:
# of bedrooms
# of bathrooms
size of home
style of home
age of home
any formal living spaces required ( ie, dining room, living room)
type of home ( ie, single family, condo, etc.)
near certain locations ( ie, schools, churches, their employment, transportation)
appliances needed
fix up or move-in condition
if fix up, how much?
amenities preferred/required
You get the idea. The list is designed so that the buyer thinks about what they want and don't run you all over town. The list will prompt the buyer to think about what they will require and what they would like to have if they can afford it. It also may prompt the buyer to think of other things that are important to them (like they need a home that has large rooms because they have huge over sized furniture or special fenced in yard, etc.) or other items that can help you do your research. By using a wants and needs type form, it will open a better line of communication of what the buyer is wanting to find.
