Primary Elections are popping up all around the country. Why should I cast a vote? It doesn't really matter does it? In Salt Lake County, Utah this year the primary elections may have other provisional items on the ballot. Some deal with school districts, bonds and such. Each precinct could have different issues on the ballot. So what is the big deal? In the past these types of issues have been saved for the final elections in November. I just attended Poll Worker Training to be a Poll Manager at the upcoming elections. The instructor made the comment that they were only expecting 15% or less voter turnout. Yes 15% of the registered voters are going to decide on these important issues. I have no idea what percent of adult citizens are registered voters. If you think about it not very many people are making decisions on issues that may affect your pocket book.
There are also county seats and a US Senate seat up for grabs. Let your voice be heard wherever you are living. So many have given their lives to give us the right to vote. Lets not let them die in vain.
