Feng Shui Long Island NY Tips on how to offset excess drain energy from your Bathroom

In Feng Shui Bathrooms are considered drain energybecause the flush of a toilet or emptying of a tub and sink drain downward.  Even tho it is a room we do not spend to much time in, you should take care in making it warm and inviting. The Bathroom can relate to health, wealth, partnership..just about all areas of your life so it is important to address this room in your home, apartment and business.

This is a client's home who I provide a Feng shui consultation for, she made changes to her Massapequa Park NY Bathroom.  Again the Feng Shui changes were simple and inexpensive, majority of the items in her bathroom she already had.  They just needed a different placement with-in the space. My mother and I always suggest to go shopping in your home before heading out to the store.

A quick reminder of mirrors in Feng Shui, they have the capability to "pull-in, push away and intensify."  Mirrors can be very powerful so it is important to be mindful of your placement and your intention for what they will be used to accomplish.  In this case, the mirror was used to intensify a painting you see in the reflection.  It is an image of two people laughing and playing together.

For my client, her intention was to enhance her relationship with her husband and make a stronger connection.  By placing the painting with knowing her intention facing the mirror she accomplished just that, along with other changes. If there was no painting being reflected in the mirror, she would have been intensifying nothing..so please be aware of what your mirrors are facing in your living and working environment.

You'll notice on top of the Toilet are beautiful flowers.  In Feng Shui flowers and plants help offset excess drain energy from the toilet.  Many times it is a challenge to keep live plants in the bathroom, so another option is to use silk plants. Also it is important to keep the toilet seat down and the bathroom door closed to prevent potential drain energy.

A couple more Feng Shui Tips about paint color and other bathroom aaccessories.  You'll notice in both photos, the wall colors are in the turquoise or greenish family.  The reason is because thebathroom is full of the Water Element, Green helps to ground and balance out this element in Feng Shui.  You do not have to paint the entire bathroom green (depending on the individuals situation), you can accent it with curtain colors, small knickknacks, soaps and more. Refering back to the mirror quickly, remember they intensify. The shower curtain should always be closed if you see your bathroom mirror is relecting a tub drain, which is what happend with this Queens NY Feng Shui client

Hi Laura...great tips for my bathroom, I do try and keep the Toilet Lid down, hard as my wife leaves it up..what's that all about, the same with the door...mmm. Our on-suite mirror above the sink reflects the outside window, I think that's good..?

Have a great Friday :O)

Hi Laura, obviously Feng Shui is much more complex than it would appear to be at first glance. That's some great information about bathrooms, they are important rooms in the house.

Laura- first of all, thank you so much for continuing with your Mom's helpful blogs.  I have an artifical flower basket on my toilet, and the mirror reflects the big window over the tub- with a woods behind it. I think that's good?  I notice the pink & blue tiles in that picture. The bathroom in the house that I grew up in had those same exact plastic tiles!!! I haven't see those colors since. Would never have thought to paint the walls green with those color tiles.

Laura: I really like the advice about closing the shower curtain as it is reflected in the mirror. Fortunately none of my bathroom mirrors reflect the tubs but I had never thought of this theory before. I try to make my bathrooms as tranquil and attractive as possible. Thanks for the great tips.

Fred, hahaha that is funny the wifey leaves it up...having the mirror face the outside is great!! I actually have that in my bathroom.  There is only one tiny window so by reflecting the outside, I bring the outside in and it makes the bathroom feel bigger and allows for much more light!! :)

Malcolm, you got it! There are so many levels to this art and science, I'm sure will discover even more as time move ahead...I cant wait :)

Hannah, sounds like a spa!! which is they type of feel we recommend well done :) Im glad to hear you enjoy your bathroom!!

Patricia, isn't it amazing how sensitive you can be to your home, fixing your pipes was a great move in both "regular" and Feng Shui aspects.  Glad to hear you felt the difference :)

Linda, your very welcome!! oo ya, it is up to the home owners taste in decor and it worked...especially with the style of the home.  Seeing the woods is very good too :)

Cari and JaneAnne ,oo yes attention to detail but also the perspective of your feng Shui consultant.  If you keep in mind the 3 key rules of what mirrors do (pull-in, push away and intensify)..you'll be on track :)

Laura, thank you for the great advice, I am so compulsive about closing the Toilet seat cover, because I read somewhere else the same thing about draining of energy, but I did not know about the mirrors nor the flowers. Thank you for the tip.

Leesa, o there is so many ways to approach Feng shui, it also depends on how you want to perceive your surroundings as well :)

Endre, oo yes..the flowers and mirrors are diffidently important for helping to further enhance your bathroom space :) Your Welcome!

Eileen, You can absolutely close them up as well! Great Feng Shui tip :)

Debe,Every room is import, some play a bit stronger role, but all rooms should care and love because you are connected to the entire home :)
